Can your kid sing or dance, act out a role in play, or fashion out an imaginative creation? Chances are your kid can! Quite possibly, your kid can do even more. The fact is that, there is no telling what potential or promise a kid possesses - until it's brought out. And the discovery can be amazing!

At least a thousand children and their mothers enjoyed this experience in the recently completed Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp series held throughout the month of May. Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp is a special venue set up by Promil Pre-School that aims to help children, ages 4-7 years old, discover their talents through workshops and other fun learning activities. Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp was set up in Shangri-la Mall on May 3-4, Alabang Town Center on May 10-11, SM Mall of Asia on May 17-18, SM Dasmariņas on May 24-25, and Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall Cebu on May 31-June 1.

Smiling kids, moms in awe.
The Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp left every kid with breathless enjoyment and with new happy confidence in the new things that he/she could now do. These are reflected in their free souvenir photos taken at the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp photo booth. Those who completed any two of the four workshops even went home with a gift bag of Promil Pre-School treats. The moms were simply awed with the surprising abilities of their own children.

Never a dull moment.
Endless pleasant surprises, engaging, enchanting, even awe-inspiring moments were the rule in the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp. The workshops were all chosen and designed to stimulate the artist, the performer and whatever special talent there is in the child: singing, arts and crafts, street dancing and interactive story telling. There were other activities added to simply put the kids in a relaxed, and creative mood, and to give free rein to their sense of play: like free face painting and coloring activities. Just to keep the fun going, the Promil Pre-School mascots Aria and Jiggy were brought in to cheer on the talented pre-schoolers.

Music is child's play: Singing and Street Dance Workshops
Music seems to be one of the best mediums for stimulating precocious displays in children. In the free atmosphere of expression of the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp, the pre-schoolers readily broke out in songs and freely outdid each other with quite original moves on the dance floor, coached by teachers from Trumpets. Their mothers were simply agape in wonder at their own children. They had never seen their kids so enthusiastically expressing themselves with utter passion and enjoyment. With seeming effortless and unself-conscious ease, the children, dozens of them at a time, delivered what in any parent's eyes would qualify as command performances.

Natural thespians: Interactive Storytelling Workshop
The Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp also highlighted a surprisingly overlooked truth: Play-acting is one of the most natural forms of expression for children. It overwhelmingly forms the major part of children's expression of how they see the world. So the interactive storytelling workshop was easily the source of the richest, most spell-binding moments during the Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp. It was truly worth seeing how these children jumped in and out of character as they were guided by their experienced instructors from Trumpets.

Little hands at work, at play: Arts and Crafts Workshop
Another reminder of kids' ways came in the relatively quieter moments of arts and crafts facilitated by Art Attack.

Mothers again saw how true it is, that when children are at play, they are seriously at work. The Promil Pre-School Nurture Camp set the kids down to a creative session of making magical artworks such as wands and crowns out of sticks, sequins and colored, shiny paper. To the kids, this was very interesting play and they soon lost themselves in it, fierce concentration marked in every little face. When one gets a kid absorbed in something, there's no such thing as short attention span. And wonder of wonders! The distinctiveness of every child's take on a supposedly similar task was stunningly rich. Every creation looked different, each with its own uniqueness, reflecting the child's view of what magic should be.

But the biggest magic of all was the effect of mom's participation. This arts and crafts session allowed the mothers to join in and help the children in the more challenging bits of the "task". Rather than becoming distracted, the children all appeared to become more inspired and more proud of what they are doing when mom was involved.

Promil Pre-school knows it's a never-ending story. More newfound talents are waiting to be discovered. With children, one never knows what amazing discoveries will be uncovered. Tip for moms: watch out for more Promil Pre-School Nurture Camps to open for the rest of the year.
